Interior design, for me, has been an evolving process. From decorating my room as a young girl, to attending the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles, to interning at a Hollywood prop house, then working in the event planning industry, and ultimately ending up here at Cantoni as a designer, it has been an amazing adventure that has just begun.
Getting my education and degree at FIDM in Visual Communications fueled my passion for design by taking my creativity and teaching me the skills and fundamentals necessary to become a successful visual designer. During my education at FIDM, I was selected to intern at a Hollywood prop house where I learned how to stage and design themed spaces. I also volunteered at numerous fashion forward events in Los Angeles, such as The Costume Gild Awards, Mercedes Benz Fashion Week held at Smash Box Studios and Global Shop, a visual merchandising trade show in Las Vegas.
After Graduation I was excited to start my career in the event planning department at the industry’s leading prop house located in North Hollywood. I assisted in planning several special events at Yves Saint Laurent, Morton’s Steak House and numerous private individual events. This experience taught me a lot about myself, as well as design and client interaction. However, I ultimately wanted to get into an industry that catered more to the interior and commercial side of design, so I knew my next move needed to be interior designing.
This decision ultimately led me to a career here at Cantoni. With a brand and reputation like Cantoni, I can’t help but be confident in the end result. My drive and passion comes from having a vision start out on paper and then transform itself into life. It would be my pleasure to take the vision of your dream home and make it a reality.
