Eugenio found his passion for design at age 10 when he purchased architectural computer software that enabled him to draw and automatically generate 3D models of buildings. “I had hundreds of dream homes drawn from scratch and fully furnished by the time I was a high-school senior,” he says, and laughs.
A Guanajuato, Mexico, native who speaks fluent English and Spanish, Eugenio earned a degree in architecture and went on to help plan the restoration of world heritage sites while following strict UNESCO preservation guidelines. He later worked for Roche Bobois, where he visited Italian factories and French workshops to study furniture creation. Now, at Cantoni, he designs deliberately functional, well-balanced kitchens that beautifully blend Cantoni’s Italian-made cabinetry with each space’s aesthetic.
“I truly enjoy the design process and working with clients to exceed their vision and needs,” he says, adding that he frequently drafts plans on-the-spot for clients. “I’m always eager to see our work come to life.” It’s a sentiment that extends to his own home – he spends his free time tackling house projects. “My house is in constant transition and my husband and I aren’t shy when it comes to home improvement,” he says.
Whiskey on the rocks.
I was lucky to be raised in Guanajuato, Mexico. Everyone should visit that magical place at least once.
The teamwork. I truly feel like I have an army working with me – and everyone is happy to do their part.
I love cooking and enjoying the company of friends and family over a meal.
