The Herman collection is a tribute to Herman Melville, the famous author of the novel Moby Dick published in 1851 during the period of the American Renaissance. The metal spine detail in the Herman collection recalls the fin of the white whale Moby-Dick.

The originality and expressiveness of architect Maurizio Manzoni and the considerable experience of professor Roberto Tapinassi came together in 2001 to form a professional partnership among the most remarkable in Italy.
The two designers found common ground in wanting to offer new solutions for contemporary living issues by applying the logic of Italian design-- work which is purposeful and well-established in research. The results of their partnership can be attributed to the combination of their multidisciplinary fields - architecture, industrial design, and interior decoration-- as well as visual communication, fashion, and graphic design.

Article Montenapoleone is a jacquard fabric with thick woolly textures that create a multicolour effect. The shades distributed randomly interrupt their classic pied-de-poule (houndstooth).
This strong and sturdy bench upholstered in a soft textured fabric contrasted with an unconventional base was inspired by Herman Melville, the famous author of the novel Moby Dick.
