The House Above Dallas
HAVING PREVIOUSLY STAGED A UNIT AT THE HOUSE ALONG WITH FURNISHING AND DESIGNING NUMEROUS HIGH-RISE UNITS, CANTONI DALLAS WAS THRILLED WHEN APPROACHED TO HELP FURNISH AND DESIGN A LONG TIME CANTONI CLIENT’S 3 BEDROOM, 3 BATHROOM UNIT.
“One thing we find when furnishing high rises is that many rooms tend to be connected in one large space. In this case the dining room, TV room, living room, and kitchen all had to coordinate and yet be separate areas. Having said that, this can be challenging because you don’t want everything to be one color; each piece of furniture needs to have an importance," Cantoni adds.
So how did Cantoni achieve just that?
We chose pieces with impact and looks that combined the right balance of fabric, leather, glass, and wood while also incorporating focal points in each room through the use of color. To further brighten and freshen up the space, we decided to change the paint color as well. For the large pieces of furniture, we selected a neutral palette with diverse textures and tied in the client’s original artwork by adding accent pieces like the turquoise Hugo swivel chairs in the living room and orange Italian Milena dining chairs.
An additional point worth noting is that this client is not only a successful entrepreneur, but also a father of two. As important as it was that the unit complement the client’s personality—fun yet still mature and elegant
—it was of equal importance that the space be a comfortable environment in which he and his children could spend quality time. So Cantoni customized the Kendall sectional in the family room with the client’s own material and added a doublewide chaise to achieve that extra “loungy” feel.
Another advantage to high-rise living is the views that come with it. The outdoor area in the space features the sturdy lightweight concrete Provence Table paired with the orange bolt of color of the ceramic accent chairs from our outdoor collection. These pieces lent just the right amount of seating for the client and his children to enjoy the spectacular views of downtown Dallas.
With a sophisticated, spacious, and modern master bedroom for the client, whimsical and purple bedroom for his daughter and classic contemporary bedroom for his son, The House has proven to be the perfect nest for Cantoni's client and his children. With over a dozen luxury high-rise projects completed across the globe, it is apparent that Cantoni is more than capable of creating and designing homes that are both modern and warm inviting spaces. The client adds, “My experience with Cantoni was outstanding! I keep a crazy schedule, typically on a plane every week, but he transformed my House unit into a modern, elegant, and warm home that I now look forward to relaxing in with my kids.” Cantoni’s CEO, Michael Wilkov sums it up perfectly: “It’s simple really, we want to make life—and the living environment—better for our customers. That’s what we do.”
