There was no question who they would turn to for their interiors and finish out. They had entrusted Cantoni when building their first Dallas home in the 1980s, and later in 2012, when they built a vacation home in Watercolor, Florida. Cantoni designer Nicole George assisted them with the interior layout as well as lighting, art and furniture selection for their oceanfront home in Florida and the couple tapped her expertise again, along with Cantoni kitchen design and closet specialist Eugenio Reyes-Retana before breaking ground on their Cedar Creek home.
Working in tandem, “we offset the hard, cool lines of marble, quartz and tile with warm wood tones of oak in flooring, tan and grey plush upholstery, throw pillows, silver shag rugs, and ethereal two-toned draperies,” Randy says. “Sparkling light fixtures added nice touches."
In the family room, it’s all about the view and socializing. Furnishings include a set of four Koster swivel chairs, centered around a custom-designed Gloss table. The custom-ordered Edwin sectional and ottoman along with the Sting accent tables frame the room. The formal dining room boasts the Skorpio Keramik dining table in a matte golden Calacatta ceramic top and graphite lacquered-steel base paired with Sofia side chairs in smoke-hued leather. The Oxygen pendant, a symmetrical set of 10 blown-glass cylinders, dangles overhead for a dazzling and dramatic effect.
“Nicole introduced us to great design, helping us source unique Italian-made tables, chairs, sofas and bar stools you will not find anywhere else in the Dallas area,” Randy says, adding that, “both Eugenio and Nicole made things easy and went the extra mile to source ideas—materials, design, colors and style—that were a good fit for us.”
The formal living room holds two custom-made Brandy sofas that symmetrically face a custom Moon cocktail table. Meanwhile, in the master bedroom, a duo of mocha leather Harvey swivel chairs are handsome alongside the Milo accent table in charcoal-stained ash. “Randy is a sharp businessman with an innovative mind and is very creative,” Nicole says. “He is great to work with and communicates his ideas clearly.”
The couple’s favorite space, however, is the kitchen. With natural light entering through floor-to-ceiling windows gleaming on nine-foot polished white cabinets, there is nothing not to love. For more kitchen details check out the full kitchen tour, here.
