When the developers behind Bleu Ciel—Dallas’ glittering new condominium tower with ultra-luxe amenities and the largest high-rise condominium terraces in the country—wanted to design a model residential unit reflective of the building’s style, they turned to Cantoni. “We have partnered with Cantoni for years, and felt it was a natural fit for them to showcase their latest furniture line in Bleu Ciel,” says Jessica Young, Harwood International’s director of marketing and public relations. “Given their modern sensibility, we wanted them to go with what their interpretation was for the building—and we saw eye-to-eye from the very beginning.”

Cantoni’s Dallas Design team oversaw the selection of furnishings, art, and accessories, and found instant inspiration in the 33-story tower designed by prominent French architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte and Harwood International’s in-house firm, HDF. “When we walked into the building and the unit, we were immediately inspired by the architectural lines, the materials, and the natural light,” the design team says. “We wanted the space to be both edgy and warm—and to play off the name.”

Bleu Ciel means “blue sky” in French, so the Dallas Design team opted to blend neutral tones at the core while infusing pops of blue. To wit: two "Color Wash I" giclée prints by artist Tobi Fairley at entry are paired with a low-slung bench for a dramatic play on scale, color, and balance. “The blue hues set the tone, and provide a sense of what we wanted to capture with Bleu Ciel,” Young says. “We were really impressed with how he carried out the theme.”

FFor comfort, the design team integrated clean-lined furnishings in soft materials. A handwoven Italian rug is paired with the soft Victor leather sectional and the plush leather Lolita chair in the living room; in an adjoining bedroom, the light-grey leather king bed in taupe is complemented with a textural embellished giclée on canvas by Dallas artist Jill Pumpelly. The team also created areas for rest and conversation on the spacious balcony overlooking the pool. “Our intention was to create a comfortable, relaxing place that also spoke to Bleu Ciel’s aesthetic and lifestyle,” the Dallas Design team says.

In each space, the design team paid close attention to the surrounding landscape—which includes gardens by Japanese landscape architect Sadafumi Uchiyama—and ambiance. “The design is stunning,” Young says. “Everything from the artwork he selected to the furniture in the dining room works really well with the style of Bleu Ciel.”
